Trailhead is Highland Lakes Campground or the end of the road. One mile west of Ebbetts Pass, you'll find the road heading out to Highland Lakes. Only the first of five miles is paved. Okay for passenger cars, if by "okay" we acknowledge the implicit "not good" as well as the "not bad".
