Bear Valley and surrounding area has a plethora of off road activities.
All variety of walking hikes, from 1-3 mile shorties, to week long excursions into the backcountry.
If you have a 4 wheel drive or green sticker dirt bike, plenty of Forest Service roads and trails where you can legally explore are found along Highway 4, eastward of Arnold to past Lake Alpine. Many if not all of the motorized trail descriptions would make fine hikes as well. There isn't alot of offroad motorized traffic, at this point.
Do NOT go off trail and tear it up with your vehicle though. Also, do NOT totally rely on the Forest Service maps... they aren't quite accurate in describing what happens once you get a ways off Highway 4.
