Hi there Tony, I will tell you my story and you can post it if you want.
I came to my uncle, Steinthor Jacobsson to help build his house, it was a loghouse called PanAbode and came from Colorado. Ready cut and we put it together in about 2-3 weeks. After looking at a map I think it is on Quaking Aspen Road maybe lot 42. We built another one a little bit bigger later in summer on I think Fremont Road lot 20 or 21. Those roadnames are gone from memory but Iīm looking at the map. After that I worked for a while on laying pipes in the new areas higher up in the town and when winter came I started working at the Little Lodge for a guy named Jim Kless, dishwashing. I got 200 dollars a month and free skipass and it was great.
Skiing most days, there was only breakfast and dinner and I had the middle of the day off.

Old timers said that it had not snowed this much for about 50 years, at least one house broke down and many were damaged, I think everybody had problems, guys were making up to 10 dollars an hour shoveling snow for a while.....We had to shovel snow from the top of the hotel, it had started to give...you can maybe see a break in the main beam on ground floor of the hotel.

I donīt have any pictures from that time since my camera was stolen right about then, sorry, but those I have you can have if you want.
I still remember a lot of people from that time but the names have mostly gone into the snow.....I remember an old guy who took care of a lot of things for the town, he was in control of the snowmobiles that drove people around town after road were closed because of snow. And I remember Mr.Eberhardt the bank director and his daughter, Mary, an old rancher who owned all the land I think, great guys...and the deputy who was my friend, all the girls who worked in the hotel and a lot of others, Garry who ran the general store, it comes back a little when you start to think....

Well, I hope you like this, send me a line whenever......

Sigurd
